abandoned house
is it theft if I take
three tulips
to give an ailing friend
on this dull gray day

Kirsty, we seem to be on the same wavelength today. I almost posted this poem early this morning:
trespassers
three pink tulips
in an unkempt yard
I also re-read the wonderful ”Stealing Lilacs” by Alice N. Persons, from "Never Say Never" (Moon Pie Press, 2004), which you can read at Garrison Keillor’s Writer’s Almanac for May 16, 2007, and hear here.

Enjoyed your heart tugging poem with a question.
Thanks, Kirsty.

A bright, whimsical capture.

David: remarkable how close these poems are, eh?
Yu: I wish I had written this haiku...ah! the multiple layers you manage to paint into your poetry...sigh
Thanks all.
