noon breeze

a song begins

in the bluebird's throat

.

morning light...
with my deep breath
a cuckoo's song

_kala

nightfall -

birdsongs

fade

***

la nuit tombe -

les chants d'oiseaux

s'estompent

she asks me again,
how much calcium
should she take?
my tiny mother's bones
stronger than her memory

This is my new painting for the First prize in the 7th 'Calico Cat' haiku contest. Shiki-shi rice paper, sumi ink, Chinese watercolors. Scroll. Maybe some of you will like it enough to submit haiku to the contest :) All other prizes are also my original sumi-e. Looking forward to read your haiku, dear friends!

Moscow subway--
between two stations
a kiss

blackbirds' songs

at nightfall -

the birdbath overflows

***

le chant des merles

dans le soir qui tombe -

le bain d'oiseaux déborde

dusk

the brook becomes

its sound

(Published in World Haiku Review)

morning Tai Chi--
the atmospheric dust
dances with me

blossoming rapeseeds -

small wrinkles

at the corner of her eyes

***

colzas en fleur -

de petites rides

au coin de ses yeux
