Submissions are open til May 31st, 2011 for Magnapoets' lit journal July 2011 issue. The good news? We're getting tons of fantastic submissions. The bad news? We're getting tons of fantastic submissions and there simply isn't room for them all. That means I'm going to have to send out lots of rejection notices. :( Even with doubling the size of Magnapoets in recent issues, there still isn't room enough to publish as many poems as I'd like. That said, remember: just because one publication rejects your work is no reason to think it's not "good enough" to be published. There are myriads of reasons why an editor is not able to accept your work, and space may simply be one of them. Don't discard submissions that haven't made it through the first time! Either submit them as they are to other publications, or take a look at them and see if a little tweaking may be needed before finding another home for them. The important thing is not to give up! Submission information is here.
As far as our anthologies go, Butterfly Away is flying away! :) Sales are much higher than anticipated, so we're already gearing up for a second printing. Many Windows, our epiphanies-themed anthology, should be ready for distribution in early June. If you'd like to take a peek at the cover, shot by Steve Sawford, it's second from the top at this link.
Please be patient with me as I deal with anthologies orders and submissions. As usual, we've received an avalanche of submissions and I am carefully reading through them. Our writers have put a lot of time and effort into their work, and so I'm going to be sure they're treated with the care and respect they deserve. Thank you for trusting us with your work, poets, and thank you, readers, for your support of our journal and our projects.
